ANDREW OSER

Over the past 30 years, Andrew Oser has helped countless individuals to more fully awaken and to and live the Truth of who they are. Geoffrey Hamilton, M.A., Q.M.H.A  has been studying Buddhist meditation for 20 years, beginning with Tibetan Shamata practice under Alan Wallace and proceeding with Vipassana (Theravada insight meditation) under Jack Kornfield, Thich Nhat Hanh and others. In 2002, he received the teachings of Anapanasati (Mindfulness of Breathing) from Ajarn Pho, the Buddhadassa’s successor. Geoffrey also teaches Qi Gong, Yoga, and Tai chi, and elements from these practices are incorporated in his Anapanasati instruction (classes begin Oct.12^th).

Geoffrey’s college education began at Stanford University (Anthropology/Human Biology) and continued at the University of Oregon (Music and Healing) and California Institute of Integral Studies (East/West Psychology). He has apprenticed with a Yurok Indian Doctor on the Klamath River, where he grew up, and has written extensively on shamanic healing practices of the Pacific Northwest Coast.

Currently, Geoffrey (whose Hebrew name is Eliyahu) is studying Torah, Midrash, and Kabbalistic meditation techniques under Rabbi Asi Spiegel (Eugene) and Rabbi Raz Hartman (Jerusalem). In November, he will be leading a study group comparing Buddhist meditation with the contemplative techniques of the 16th Century Kabbalist, AriZal (Isaac Luria). This will include an elucidation of the likenesses of the ten sephirot of the Etz Chaim (Tree of Life)--considered as five in the Book of Zohar--and the five aggregates of consciousness prominent in Buddhist psychology.
